Our Volunteers have an opportunity to directly experience the inner workings of our projects. They get the chance to work with our library and community programs as well as branch out to work with other organizations in Jamaica. Roger Marek from Switzerland worked with the Northern Caribbean University for a couple of weeks and was able to experience our summer school program. Meggan Bonini from Oregon made an impact on our children in the community and experienced the relationships of family and friends in the District. Belle and Elysia from California was on hand during the Grand Opening of the Library. They experienced the dynamics of rural life and also got to be tourists with their own personal tour guides. We look forward to welcoming other volunteers to the little district with the big program.
Looking forward to 2009, we hope to host students from Universities across the United States. Students from Cornell University visited our site recently to check out our programs for students interested in volunteering at our Summer School.
